My takeaway from this experience: take your Tesla to the Tesla Service Center first. I brought my Tesla here specifically because I expected an independent repair shop to offer a more economical alternative to dealer pricing. I paid for an inspection and estimate, but no repair work was performed. The estimate I received was actually higher than Tesla’s own pricing. The quoted price for the horn repair alone was roughly double what Tesla charged me to do the job. I’m perfectly willing to pay a shop for its time to diagnose a vehicle and prepare an estimate. What disappointed me was paying for that process, discovering that the independent-shop pricing was higher than the manufacturer’s service center, and then getting no meaningful follow-up. Afterward, I received both a call and a text asking about my satisfaction. I returned the call because I was willing to discuss whether there were lower-cost repair options. I never received a return call. For my Tesla, this experience eliminated the reason I would choose an independent shop over Tesla Service. Based on the pricing and lack of follow-through, I would not return.

I don't live in Rochester anymore, but I will drive 3 hours to get my trucks serviced by the team at Pat's Automotive. Trustworthy and competent, that's why they have my long-distance loyalty.

Great service. The staff was friendly and kind. Scott was straightforward with the cost, what was wrong with my car, and explained everything throughly. My car was ready the next day. I’m so happy that I finally found an automotive shop that addresses my issues and concerns with my car and is honest about it.

The folks at Pat's are fantastic! They take the time to explain what's going on with your vehicle and make sure you understand what's wrong and what it will take to make it right. They research your specific vehicle on the internet to see what scheduled maintenance has (and hasn't) been completed and then give you a comprehensive list of what has been done, what must be done, and what should be done, all in separate, easy-to-understand, prioritized sections - and all available online at the click of a link that they send right to your email inbox. If you care at all about staying up to date with your vehicle maintenance the way you should, you owe it to your car to schedule an appointment with Pat's. They'll help you get it organized and keep it all straight!
